To
enhance your educational experience, this year will feature a Tech Track and
a Student Track during each breakout session.
Our
keynote address will be given by Dr.
Lillian Glass. Dr. Glass is one of
the world's most well-respected and foremost authorities in the field of
Communication. As a renowned Body Language expert, she has demonstrated
her skills throughout the media and in the legal fields. She is also a
media commentator where she shares her unique prespective concerning current
news events. Known as "The
First Lady of Communication" she has authored over a dozen books,
including the best-sellers Toxic People - 10 Ways
of Dealing with People Who Make Your Life Miserable; He Says She Says,
and her current book, I
Know What You're Thinking - Using the Four Codes of Reading People to Improve
Your Life. Dr.
Glass is seen throughout the media, providing commentary on current issues.
She regularly appears on, CNN’s Nancy Grace Show, CNN’s Showbiz
Tonight, and CNN’s Headline News. as well as on MSNBC. She also appears
regularly on the Today Show where her segments represent all aspects of
communication. Her expertise in the area of "body language" and "reading
people" continue
to be featured in popular television and print media outlets worldwide
including Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Newsweek, OK, Life and Style, In Touch
Weekly, Rolling Stone, and US Weekly Magazine.

ACTIVITIES
GOLF
TOURNAMENT
Come
and play in the CCRA Golf Tournament on Friday. We are playing at the Indian
Wells Golf Resort. This is the same course where the LG Skins Game is played.
It will be a scramble format so people of all skill levels can play. The cost
is $99 per person (includes: green fees, cart, and practice balls). Please
note: Convention registration is not required to play.
SPA
TREATMENTS
THE
WELL Spa, named in the "Top 10 Resort Spas in North America & Caribbean," by
Conde Nast Traveler, features 12,000 sq ft of decadent relaxation. Designed
as a Tuscan Villa, with 13 treatment rooms, the spa features an impressive
co-ed courtyard, four outdoor cabanas complete with open air showers, a
Watsu pool and signature river bench pool. Special "Reporter" spa
packages designed to address the aches and pains that reporters are
prone to will be offered. We will also offer mini massages and
paraffin wax treatments between education sessions.
FRIDAY
NIGHT WELCOME RECEPTION
Join
us from 7 - 9 p.m. at our welcome reception located on the Piazza
Terrace overlooking the resort. Network with your friends and peers
while enjoying a beverage of your choice and some tasty hors d'oeuvres.
SATURDAY
NIGHT BBQ
Saturday's
barbeque extravaganza by the pool with great food and a rockin' band is going
to be hit! Enjoy an evening under the beautiful desert sky.

Do
you want to pass THE TEST? Participating
students will find value in the Student
Track and CSR
Mock classes. There is a Student
Track class offered for all breakout sessions. CCRA offers

Help
a student attend this year’s convention. You can sponsor the
registration or donate a flat fee to help pay for accommodations,
travel, etc. Sponsorship donations will be distributed after the
convention.

DRESS
CODE
Business casual is suggested
for convention activities. While the average temperature in
Palm Springs in is 91 /61 degrees the temperature
in hotel meeting rooms is sometimes cool so we suggest you bring
sweaters and/or jackets.
CANCELLATION
POLICY
Cancellations
must be received in writing (fax or e-mail accepted) by 5:00 p.m., September
28, 2009 to qualify for a refund. A $25 processing fee will apply for
all refunds. No refunds for cancellations received after 5:00 p.m., September
28, 2009.
MANDATORY
EDUCATION FOR OFFICIALS
Changes
to the California Rule of Court make it mandatory for all court employees,
including court reporters, to complete eight hours of continuing education
every two years. These continuing
education requirements may be met by getting your supervisor to pre-approve
your attendance at the seminars at the CCRA convention.
The planners and sponsors reserve the
right to substitute speakers without penalty due to unforeseen
and/or unavoidable circumstances. The planners and sponsors of this
